Strong Women 6 Opening Reception

STRONG WOMEN 6 Opening Reception is pretty much a women’s movement in the arts community! STRONG WOMEN 6 will continue its tradition of bringing prolific women artists together, to send a message to the male-dominated arts community. This year, they will feature the best and the strongest works from the studios and workspaces of various female artists. Some of the most renowned women artists featured in the event are Patricia Chamberlain, Joan Cummings, Renee Lerner Ruth Bauer Neustadter, Barbara Nessum, Teressa Koncick, Adia Gibbs, Alice Harrison among others!
The visitors of the event can also marvel at The Jewish Museum of NJ that is also the site of the historic temple of Congregation Ahavas Shalom.
San Jose Taiko: A Journey through Rhythm

Ever heard of Taiko Drums? Taiko is an ancient Japanese form of percussion, kind of like drums. The drums range in size from roughly a snare drum called shime to drums as big as a small car known as daiko. Taiko drumming is a musical art form that involves a music ensemble and tightly choreographed movements.
The choreographed pounding of Taiko drums will reverberate throughout the city of Newark as San Jose Taiko introduces the spectacular art of Taiko drumming. The demonstration will be presented by the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity.
Shen Yun Performing Arts – 2015 Tour

Invincible: A Glorious Tribute to Michael Jackson

The event is a tribute to the late great Michael Jackson and a remembrance to his musical masterpieces. The event will feature songs from various phases of his career. From a member, with his brothers, in the Jackson 5 to a solo artist rising to stratospheric heights, he was one of the greatest entertainers of all time. This is the only show that brings back the spirit and the essence of seeing Michael Jackson Live again on-stage!
The show will feature talented performers performing the unique dancing that Michael was so famous for. The show will also include the best MJ impersonators from across the world, who can sing, dance and perform like Michael Jackson.

Surati Holi Hai 2015 – Festival of Colors

Holi is the annual Hindu festival of color, or the festival of love, and is one of the most popular festivals among the Indian and Nepali communities. It is celebrated at the beginning of the spring where people lovingly smear color on each other. They celebrate with music, dance, good food and drinks. It is an ancient Hindu religious festival which has become popular with non-Hindus in many parts of South Asia, as well as people of other communities outside Asia.
Jersey City’s SURATI for Performing Arts brings 7th annual Holi event to the people of the tri-state area and beyond, to celebrate the festival with color and joy. The event will be hosted outdoors in Exchange Place and Grundy Pier, Jersey City and is a free event to the public. There event will host booths selling art, crafts and jewelry, along with food and beverages. (Rain date: Sunday, March 29).
This event has proven to be a very big success in the past and is attended by thousands of people from Connecticut, Washington D.C. and even Boston, MA travel to take part in the event. The event is a testimonial of the diversity of the communities in the Jersey City.
Climb to the Top

The event is a unique fund raiser to help raise funds to assist people in northern and central New Jersey affected by Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease in which the immune system eats away the protective covering of nerves.
The event is organized by National MS Society – New Jersey Metro Chapter that includes stair climb race, a Climb to the Top! The participants will climb 33 flights of stairs, 822 steps closer to a cure at Mack-Cali’s Harbor side Plaza 5 in Jersey City, NJ.
The event can be registered online for a fee of $35 and a minimum fundraising of $250. The registration includes race bib, event T-shirt, complimentary appetizer at Henry’s on the Hudson, free event photos, free parking and a paramount of satisfaction for helping the needy people in the society.
The event also includes an after-party at Henry’s, on the Hudson (just across the street), for a well-deserved celebration!

March for Babies – Hudson County

March for Babies is the premier fundraising event from March of Dimes to support and research nationwide programs in our community that help poor and homeless babies survive and thrive. When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to more than half a million babies born too soon each year.
The money raised in the fund raiser supports programs in the community that help mothers have healthy, full-term pregnancies. It also funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten the health of babies born. The event started for the cause in 1970 and has raised an incredible $2 billion to benefit all babies. Feel free to join more than 7 million people who have participated, donated and/ or sponsored.
New Jersey Armed Forces Day Festival

The New Jersey Armed Forces Day Festival includes a charity race, the Liberty Lightning 9-K, and a 1-Mile Kids Run. Both races will benefit the Liberty Run Foundation, which provides veteran to veteran support. It enables direct continuous care programs for the special needs of injured and recovering wounded veterans and their families.
The registration fee for the Liberty Lightning 9K is $45 and for the 1- Mile Kids’ Run $20. Price for the 9K will increase after February 1st ($55) and after April 15th ($65).
